Varisya vs an Odoo implementation partner: which fits a business leaving Tally ERP 9?

An Odoo implementation partner sells Odoo's apps, usually on per-user Enterprise licences, and quotes implementation, Tally data migration and custom modules as a project on top. Varisya Enterprise Tech Solutions moves you onto the Nidhi Suite with migration included in one annual plan, from ₹39,000/year with unlimited users. Choose Odoo for breadth; choose Varisya for a supported, fixed-price move.

The real choice

You are not only choosing software. You are choosing who carries the migration and the years after it.

Odoo is an open-source business software suite from Belgium. It comes as a free Community edition and a paid Enterprise edition billed per user, and in India it is usually sold and implemented by Odoo partners. A partner's quote typically has three parts: Odoo licences, an implementation project (often sold as blocks of hours), and support after go-live. Moving your Tally ERP 9, Busy or Marg data into Odoo sits inside the implementation project.

Varisya works differently. We move growing Indian businesses off legacy ERPs and off Excel onto the Nidhi Suite (Nidhi Books, Nidhi Inventory, Nidhi Billing, Nidhi POS and related modules), migrate the data, and support the system on one annual retainer. Migration is not a separate line. Both are reasonable choices for different businesses, so the rest of this page shows where each one fits.

Five questions to ask an Odoo partner — and how Varisya answers them

Who this is for

When Varisya fits — and when an Odoo partner is the better call

If you're a distributor or trader on Tally ERP 9 with two godowns, imports and a team of fifteen who all need access, Varisya fits, because what you need is your books, stock and GST history moved intact, landed cost and bins handled by Nidhi Import Costing and Nidhi Warehouse, and no per-user maths as you hire. See migrating from Tally ERP 9 and the distributor page.

If you need CRM, manufacturing planning, HR and a website in one platform, and have someone in-house to own the rollout, an Odoo partner is the better call. Odoo's breadth is real. Get the migration, upgrade and support terms in writing before you sign.

If Tally still does the job and only reporting hurts, stay on Tally for now. On Busy, Marg or SAP Business One instead? See the Busy, Marg or SAP Business One pages. Running on spreadsheets? Start with Excel to automation.

Common questions

Varisya vs an Odoo partner — frequently asked

We're leaving Tally ERP 9 and an Odoo partner has quoted us. Why would we pick Varisya instead?

Pick Varisya if what you need is your Tally data moved and a system that fits your books, stock and billing, run on one annual price with support. Pick the Odoo partner if you need Odoo's breadth — CRM, manufacturing planning, HR and many other apps — and are ready to own a larger rollout. Compare what each quote includes for migration, customisation and the years after go-live, not only the first-year number.

Does an Odoo partner migrate our Tally data, including GST history?

Many do, but Odoo has no standard one-click Tally import, so the move is part of the partner's project scope and is quoted with it. Ask which masters, opening balances, open bills and how many years of GST documents are included, and how they reconcile against Tally. With Varisya the migration of masters, opening balances, GST document history and open documents is included in every annual plan.

Odoo Community is free. Isn't that cheaper than paying Varisya every year?

The Community licence is free, but implementation, data migration, hosting, custom modules and support are not, and some apps businesses expect are only in Odoo Enterprise, which is billed per user. The fair comparison is total cost over three years, all-in. Varisya plans are annual, excluding GST, with unlimited users and migration included: Essential from ₹39,000/year, Professional ₹79,000/year, Enterprise custom from ₹1,49,000/year.

What happens to customisations when the software gets a new version?

Odoo releases a new major version every year, and custom modules your partner wrote have to be ported and retested when you upgrade, usually as another piece of paid work. With Varisya, ongoing customisation and support are part of the annual retainer, so keeping your changes working is our job rather than a new project.

We import goods and run two godowns. Does the Nidhi Suite handle landed cost and bins?

Yes. Nidhi Import Costing handles foreign-currency purchases, consignments and landed cost, and Nidhi Warehouse handles bins, put-away, scan-verified pick and pack and cycle counts, alongside Nidhi Books, Nidhi Inventory and Nidhi Billing. The free assessment checks your actual import and warehouse flow before you commit.

Can we start with Varisya and still move to Odoo later?

Yes. Your data is yours, on cloud or your own servers, and it can be exported. We would rather you pick the right system now, which is why the free assessment tells you honestly if Odoo or staying on Tally fits better.
