Varisya Enterprise Tech Solutions moves businesses off Tally ERP 9 onto the Nidhi Suite. We export your ledgers, masters, opening balances, GST invoice history, stock and open bills from Tally, migrate them, and run both systems side by side until trial balance, outstanding and stock match. Migration is included in every annual plan, from ₹39,000/year.
Tally ERP 9 was Tally Solutions' flagship for over a decade; its final release was 6.6.3, and the company's current product since November 2020 is TallyPrime. Many businesses still run ERP 9 every day. The pressure to move rarely comes from the software breaking. It comes from what has grown up around it: stock tracked in Excel, a second branch run as a separate Tally company, invoices typed twice into a billing tool, TDL add-ons written by a developer who has moved on, and reports your accountant rebuilds by hand every month-end.
So the real decision is not "Tally ERP 9 or something else". It is upgrade within Tally, or move to a system that runs the whole operation. The section below is how we help you make that call honestly.
Tally ERP 9 exports masters and vouchers in its own XML format. We map each item below field by field, migrate it, and check it against Tally before you switch.
| In Tally ERP 9 | Moves to | What we check |
|---|---|---|
| Groups and ledgers, with opening balances | Nidhi Books chart of accounts | Trial balance matches Tally on the cut-over date |
| Sundry debtors and creditors (party ledgers with GSTIN, state, address) | Nidhi Books customers and suppliers | Party-wise outstanding matches, bill by bill |
| Stock items, stock groups, units, HSN codes, GST rates | Nidhi Inventory item master | Tax rates and HSN codes on every item |
| Godowns, batches and closing stock | Nidhi Inventory locations and batches | Stock on hand matches, godown by godown |
| Sales and purchase vouchers for the years you choose | Nidhi Books and Nidhi Billing transaction history | Tax totals per period match your GST workings |
| Pending sales and purchase orders, unpaid bills | Open documents in Nidhi Billing | Every open document carries on without a break |
| Cost centres and voucher types | Branches, departments and document series | Numbering continues cleanly after go-live |
| Custom invoice formats and TDL add-ons | Rebuilt in the Nidhi Suite, replaced by a standard feature, or retired | Agreed item by item in the assessment |
Your Tally ERP 9 data is never deleted. It stays exactly where it is, so older years remain readable and your CA can still open them.
If you're on Tally ERP 9 with two or more branches or godowns, stock or orders tracked in Excel, and TDL add-ons nobody can maintain, Varisya fits, because the problem is no longer the accounting. It's everything around it. The Nidhi Suite brings books, inventory, billing and point of sale into one system, with unlimited users and ongoing customisation included in the retainer. This is common among distributors and manufacturers.
If Tally does everything you need and you only want a current, supported version, upgrade to TallyPrime through a Tally partner instead. It reads your Tally ERP 9 data and your team keeps the same habits. We would rather tell you that in the assessment than migrate a business that didn't need it.
If your accounts are fine in Tally but operations run on spreadsheets, start with Excel to automation.
Tally ERP 9 can apportion customs duty into item cost and model racks and bins as nested godowns. The trouble is how that work gets done day to day: by hand, voucher by voucher, with a costing sheet in Excel beside it. These are the questions importers and distributors ask us most, and where each one lands in the Nidhi Suite.
Landed cost
"Our real item cost lives in an Excel sheet, not in Tally."
Freight, customs duty and clearing charges arrive on separate bills, weeks apart, and someone spreads them across items in a spreadsheet. Nidhi Import Costing records each consignment with its foreign-currency purchase and the charges against it, and works out landed cost per item, so margins are based on what stock actually cost you.
Goods in transit
"We never know what's on the water versus in the godown."
In Nidhi Import Costing a consignment is tracked from the supplier's invoice to receipt, so open consignments are visible before the stock lands. The open purchase orders and unpaid supplier bills in Tally ERP 9 are migrated as open documents and carry on without a break.
Bins and picking
"Tally says we have it. The picker can't find it."
When every movement depends on someone choosing the right godown on a voucher, stock drifts away from the shelf. Nidhi Warehouse adds bin-level stock, put-away, scan-verified pick and pack, and cycle counts. Your Tally godowns, batches and closing stock are migrated first and checked godown by godown.
Year-end count
"Stock verification shuts us down for two days."
With cycle counts in Nidhi Warehouse you count a few bins at a time throughout the year instead of everything at once. Differences are found while they are still small and recent, not at the March close.
Not every importer needs both modules. In the free assessment we look at how you cost consignments and pick orders today, and tell you whether Nidhi Import Costing, Nidhi Warehouse or neither earns its place. Migration is included in every annual plan, from ₹39,000/year. More on software for distributors.
No separate migration project fee. Every plan is annual, includes unlimited users, and runs on cloud or your own servers. Prices exclude GST.

We're still on Tally ERP 9 — should we upgrade to TallyPrime or move to a different ERP?
If Tally itself is not the problem and you only need a current version, upgrading to TallyPrime through a Tally partner is the simpler move. Moving to the Nidhi Suite makes sense when the business has outgrown accounting-first software: stock, billing, branches and approvals run outside Tally, reports are rebuilt in Excel, or you depend on TDL add-ons nobody can maintain. The free assessment tells you which side you are on.
Can our GST history be migrated out of Tally ERP 9?
Yes. The sales and purchase vouchers behind your GST returns, with GSTINs, HSN codes and tax splits, are migrated into Nidhi Books for the years you choose, so you can look back at any invoice when a notice or a buyer's reconciliation question arrives. The returns you actually filed stay on the GST portal as the official record, and your Tally ERP 9 data is kept untouched as well.
We have five years of data in Tally — do we have to move all of it?
No. Most businesses move opening balances, masters and open documents for the current year plus the voucher history they actually look up, often the current and previous financial year. Older years stay readable in Tally ERP 9. We agree the cut-off with you in the assessment, often in consultation with your CA.
We have several companies in Tally — one per branch or entity. Can they all move?
Yes. Each Tally company is exported and mapped separately. In the assessment we decide with you whether each one stays a separate company in the Nidhi Suite or becomes a branch or location under one company, so inter-branch stock and reporting stop needing manual consolidation.
How does the data actually come out of Tally ERP 9?
Tally ERP 9 can export masters and vouchers in its own XML format, masters first and then transactions. We take that export, map each ledger, item and voucher type to its place in the Nidhi Suite, migrate it, and then reconcile trial balance, party outstanding and stock on hand against Tally before you switch.
What happens to our TDL add-ons and custom invoice formats?
TDL add-ons are code written for Tally, so they do not move automatically. The assessment lists each one and tells you whether it is rebuilt in the Nidhi Suite, replaced by a standard feature, or no longer needed. Custom invoice layouts are recreated with Nidhi Invoice Designer.
We import from China and pay customs and freight separately — can the Nidhi Suite work out landed cost, or do we keep our Excel costing sheet?
You can retire the sheet. Nidhi Import Costing records each consignment with its foreign-currency purchase and the freight, duty and clearing charges against it, and works out landed cost per item. In the assessment we look at how your current sheet spreads those charges, so the method you trust carries over.
We have one big godown with racks and bins. Can stock be tracked by bin after we leave Tally?
Yes. Your Tally ERP 9 godowns, batches and closing stock are migrated into Nidhi Inventory and checked godown by godown. If you pick from bins, Nidhi Warehouse adds bin-level stock, put-away, scan-verified pick and pack, and cycle counts on top.
What happens to purchase orders and consignments that are still open on the day we switch?
They carry on. Open purchase and sales orders and unpaid bills in Tally ERP 9 are migrated as open documents, so a consignment ordered before go-live is received and billed in the Nidhi Suite without re-entering it. We set the cut-over date with you, away from GST filing deadlines.
