With Varisya, ERP migration has no separate fee. Moving off Tally ERP 9, Busy, Marg, SAP Business One, an old custom system or Excel is included in every annual plan: Essential from ₹39,000/year, Professional ₹79,000/year, Enterprise custom from ₹1,49,000/year, excluding GST, unlimited users. What your data looks like decides the plan, not a migration invoice.
Whoever does your migration, the same six things decide how much work it is. Most vendors turn that work into a one-time quote. At Varisya the work is inside the annual plan, so these factors decide which plan fits and how heavy the first months are, not an extra fee.
| Factor | Why it adds work | How it shows up with Varisya |
|---|---|---|
| Years of data | More vouchers to map, check and reconcile, and more years of inconsistent party and item names to clean | Included. How much older history moves across is agreed in the assessment; your old data stays with you |
| Branches, godowns and companies | Each location or company in Tally ERP 9 or Busy has its own stock, ledgers and numbering to bring across and match | Multi-location and multi-entity operations usually sit on Enterprise, custom from ₹1,49,000/year |
| GST history | GSTINs, tax rates, HSN codes and filed periods have to land correctly so returns and audits still reconcile | Included, and checked in the parallel run before the old system is switched off |
| Customisations in the old system | TDL add-ons in Tally, custom reports, approval rules and invoice formats have to be rebuilt, not copied | The level of customisation is what separates the plans: standard, priority with a monthly roadmap, or SLA-bound delivery |
| Number of modules | Billing alone is a smaller move than billing, stock, a warehouse, landed cost on imports and point of sale together | Essential covers up to four Nidhi Suite products; Professional and Enterprise include all of them, including Nidhi Warehouse and Nidhi Import Costing |
| Integrations | Payment gateways, SMS, the WhatsApp Business API and other connected tools each need setting up and testing | Set up within the plan; the third-party usage itself is billed at cost with no markup |
Most ERP migrations in India are sold as a one-time implementation project, often with software licences on top, followed by an annual maintenance contract (AMC). For custom builds that AMC is typically 15–20% of the build cost every year. Varisya sells the same work as one annual fee. Compare the two line by line before you compare totals.
| Line item | Usual model: project + AMC | Varisya annual plan |
|---|---|---|
| Data migration | Inside the one-time implementation fee, or quoted separately | Included in every plan |
| Software licences | Often a separate contract, sometimes per user | No licence fee; unlimited users on every plan |
| Changes after go-live | Re-scoped and re-quoted as change requests | Ongoing customisation is part of the plan |
| Maintenance and upgrades | A separate AMC every year | Version upgrades and maintenance included; no separate AMC |
| Support | Depends on the AMC terms | Next-business-day email (Essential), same-day priority on phone, WhatsApp and email (Professional), or 24×7 with an hours-level SLA (Enterprise) |
| Hosting and third-party usage | Varies by vendor | Billed at cost, on your own accounts where possible |
| Cost shape | A large first year, then the AMC | The same annual fee in year one and year two |
When you get a migration quote, ask for migration, licences, customisation, AMC and support as five separate lines. If a line is missing, it is either included or coming later, and you should know which.
An annual plan is not always the lower total. A one-time project usually wins when:
The annual plan wins when the system keeps changing with the business: new branches, new approval rules, new reports, new modules. Under the project model, each of those is a new quote.
If you are a trader, distributor or manufacturer on Tally ERP 9, Busy or Marg with two or more branches or godowns, and every change to the old system now means a new quote, Varisya fits. Migration is included, so the move does not need its own budget, and the annual plan keeps the new system changing with you.
If you are on SAP Business One and paying for named-user licences, compare your current licence plus partner plus support bill against one annual plan with unlimited users. The SAP Business One page covers what moves.
If you only need a one-off move and no support afterwards, get a fixed-scope project quote instead. If your old system works and its vendor is still trading, consider staying.
The free assessment looks at the system you run today, how many years of data it holds, your branches and companies, your GST setup and the customisations your team depends on. You leave it knowing which plan fits and what the first months look like. The step-by-step process is on the legacy ERP migration page, with source-specific detail for Tally ERP 9, Busy and Marg.
Everything inside each plan, and what is billed at cost, is on the pricing page. If you are comparing a custom build, an agency or an in-house team, read software implementation cost in India. If your business runs on spreadsheets rather than an ERP, see Excel to automation.
How much does it cost to migrate from Tally ERP 9 to a new ERP in India?
With Varisya there is no separate migration fee. Migration from Tally ERP 9, Busy, Marg, SAP Business One, an old custom system or Excel is included in every annual plan: Essential from ₹39,000/year, Professional ₹79,000/year and Enterprise custom from ₹1,49,000/year, excluding GST, with unlimited users. Elsewhere, migration is usually quoted as part of a one-time implementation fee, so ask every vendor to show it as its own line.
We have 12 years of data in Tally. Will moving all of it cost more?
It does not add a fee, because migration is included in every plan. It does make the first months heavier, and it can affect which plan fits. Ten years of ledgers with inconsistent party names is more work than a clean export. How much older history to bring across, and how, is agreed in the free assessment, and your Tally data stays with you.
Is ERP implementation with migration included actually available in India, or is it always extra?
Most implementation partners price migration inside a one-time project and then charge annual maintenance separately. Varisya, an ERP implementation partner, includes migration in every annual plan and publishes the price: from ₹39,000/year, ₹79,000/year, or custom from ₹1,49,000/year, excluding GST. Version upgrades and maintenance are inside the same fee, so there is no separate AMC.
Do we still pay an annual support contract (AMC) after the migration?
Not as a separate contract. The Varisya annual plan is the support contract: it covers ongoing customisation, support, version upgrades and maintenance. Essential has next-business-day email support, Professional same-day priority support on phone, WhatsApp and email, and Enterprise 24×7 support with an hours-level SLA and an account manager. Hosting and third-party usage are billed at cost.
Is a one-time ERP project ever cheaper than an annual plan?
Yes. If you need a one-off move, will not change the system afterwards and your team can support it in-house, a fixed-scope project can cost less over the years than any retainer. If you are on a licensed product from a vendor still trading, such as TallyPrime, and it works, staying with that vendor or its partner is usually cheaper than migrating at all.
What else will we pay for besides the Varisya plan?
GST on the plan, and pass-through charges billed at cost with no markup: hosting and infrastructure on your own cloud accounts, SMS gateway charges, WhatsApp Business API conversation charges, payment-gateway fees and any other third-party API usage. There is no per-user licence and no separate migration or maintenance fee.
